Rob Cornilles
Industry Advisor, Founder & CEO, Game Face Marketing, Inc.
Since launching Game Face in 1995, Rob has been invited into more front offices and intercollegiate athletic departments than any sports consultant on record. After graduating from BYU in 1988, Rob eventually launched his sports career as a marketing representative for the Los Angeles Clippers. He was quickly promoted into management after devising a sales strategy that helped sell out games for the NBA’s worst franchise at the time. Rob’s client list includes more than 300 brands from the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, MLS, NCAA and minor leagues. Over the years, he has also played a role in the successful placement of more than 500 candidates into full-time jobs throughout the industry. Now Rob is an adjunct professor in the Marriott School of Business.
Carson Whitlock

Although Carson was raised in the hot Californian desert, his family’s roots go back to the Northern Virginian area where his passion for all DC Sports teams originates. He was introduced to BYUSBC when the managing group for the Washington Capitals came and did a case competition for the club’s first event. Since then, he has been an avid supporter for the club and worked for various sports groups including the Utah Warriors Pro Rugby Team, Days of ‘47 Rodeo, and BYU’s Men & Women’s Lacrosse Teams. He also has worked with such events including the Utah Solution Summits on Opioids and Attorney General Sean Reyes Law Day Symposiums. He is looking forward to working for a team in DC someday and is currently planning a dessert festival to be hosted in the Fall.

Max Clark

Max is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Sports Media with a minor in Business. His Arizona roots support his love of the Phoenix Suns. Max has a passion for sports, primarily soccer. As a result, he closely follows the English Premier League in a pursuit to keep tabs on his favorite team, Manchester United. Furthermore, he has a background in event planning and communications. Previously, he was a Congressional Intern in the United States House of Representatives in Washington, D.C. where he learned valuable lessons surrounding foreign policy and social media management.

Ethan Jones
Communication Coordinator

Being born and raised in the Seattle area, Ethan prides himself in all Seattle Sports and is convinced that the Super Sonics will return and dominate in the NBA. He is currently studying Marketing at the Marriott School and also working as a Sports Marketing intern for BYU Athletics. Ethan is an avid intramural athlete, and has won 5 different championship t-shirts in Volleyball, Badminton, Tennis, and Pickleball. He also loves music, plays the Keyboard and was a member of a local Band, Cruze Control. Ethan was a part of the first place team in this last year’s Sports Business Club and is a new presidency member to the club working as the Communications Coordinator. He is excited about the opportunity and some of the amazing upcoming events in the club!

RJ Hazen
Director of Events

RJ Hazen is a die-hard baseball fan and faithfully watched his San Francisco Giants claim three World Series titles last decade. Born in the Bay Area, he has remained loyal to all Bay Area sports teams, including the Warriors and 49’ers. His favorite sports memory was attending a Nationals game in Washington DC on June 20, 2015 when Max Scherzer threw a no-hitter. RJ was a pitcher growing up and most recently played for Salt Lake Community College. He hung up his cleats a season after being named Conference Relief Pitcher of the Year and is excited to stay involved with sports through the Sports Business Club by serving as the Director of Events. RJ is currently a Statistics major and is planning on emphasizing in Data Science with a minor in Business.

Sam Bennion
Outreach Coordinator

Sam Bennion is a constant lover and player of all sports. Basketball is a particular favorite and he loves staying caught up on anything basketball. Being born in Salt Lake and growing up in Bountiful, he loves the Jazz. He also loves the Boston Red Sox, New Orleans Saints, and Portland trailblazers. The College and High School sports scenes in Utah are also of great interest to him. Sam loves to play all sports, but a few favorites include playing basketball, golf, tennis, pickleball, spikeball, soccer, football and baseball. He is planning on majoring in Information Systems. Sam is a new club presidency member, and is excited to get started as Outreach Coordinator. He is pumped to get networking within the sports business world and to help the club grow!

Marie Gregson
PR Coordinator

Marie is from small-town Prairie Grove, Arkansas where she used to eat, sleep, and breathe SEC football. She had the opportunity to try her hand at basketball, volleyball, softball, and soccer. Her love of sports started there but grows still today. She is a huge NBA fan, and do just about anything to get into the NBA Bubble. She hopes to do public relations for a professional basketball team. Marie is currently in her senior year of the Public Relations program here at BYU. She has worked for a variety of small businesses, helping them grow there social platforms and transform their brand. Her keen eye for aesthetic and public image drive her to try new and innovative things to build brands. She can’t wait to expand these skills and learn from mentors in the industry. She loves making friends, not just colleagues, so reach out to her for any questions about the club!
